"Getting the Old Testament: What it Meant to Them; What it Means to Us" (Peabody, MA:聽 Hendrickson/Baker).

  • 聽鈥淚n the quest for the ultimate undergraduate textbook, Bridge鈥檚 Getting the Old Testament has got a significant place鈥. there is much to recommend this book.聽 The scope is ambitious and the format compelling: to give an introduction to the Hebrew Bible is no mean task.鈥 鈥The Expository Times

"Getting the Gospels: Understanding the New Testament Accounts of Jesus鈥 Life" (Peabody, MA:聽 Hendrickson/Baker).

  • 鈥淲ith its short but packed chapters, accessible writing style and allusions to pop culture, this introduction to the four gospels contains enough meat for scholars, presented in a way that will be palatable for the general reader聽 With contagious enthusiasm and a fine attention to detail that never loses sight of the big picture, this little book is a gem of accessible biblical scholarship.鈥 (Starred Review) 鈥擯ublishers Weekly

鈥淲here the Eagles are Gathered鈥:聽 The Deliverance of the Elect in Lukan Eschatology (JSNTSup 240;聽 Sheffield: Sheffield Academic Press)

  • 鈥淎ll in all, Bridge鈥檚 work is an important contribution to Lukan eschatology and to the interpretation of the eagle logion (17:37).聽 The evidence he gives to support his views on the eagle logion are highly persuasive, especially in regard to his discussion about the use of the aetoi in antiquity (ch. 3).鈥濃Review of Biblical Literature
