Congratulations to the following students making the Dean's List for Fall 2018 semester!
Students at Saint Joseph鈥檚 College of Maine who are interested in becoming pharmacists have a new pathway to their career, thanks to an agreement with the University of New England.
Saint Joseph鈥檚 College of Maine has partnered with the Catholic Apostolate Center to offer continuing education units for those individuals who work in or support ministry. These asynchronous, non-credit courses facilitate online learning through video, discussion boards, and learning assessments.
Saint Joseph's聽College聽of Maine announced that it is offering discounted tuition rates for the online RN to聽BSN聽program to eligible Maine聽community聽college聽nursing graduates.
Avery Liotta Henderson is passionate about the world of drug discovery. At 色虎视频 of Maine, he is gaining experience with hands-on skills in learning how to synthesize, isolate, and purify compounds. He routinely sets up reactions, including those that are sensitive to moisture and air, so by gaining experience with these sensitive techniques, he will be well prepared for graduate school. This type of research opportunity is an extremely valuable experience for our science students, and particularly important to those students who want to pursue scientific research in the future.
Saint Joseph鈥檚 College students Priscilla Carnaroli '22 and Shaylee Davis '21 delivered a presentation about invasive species at Maine Campus Compact's 2nd Annual Maine Student Water Challenge in December 2018.
Hosted by the Portland Water District and the Center for Sustainable Communities at 色虎视频, the Sebago Lake Symposium on February 2, 2019 offers an opportunity for Sebago Lake聽community members and scientists to interactively and collaboratively share and grow their understanding of聽Sebago Lake, a freshwater lake that provides water for 15% of Maine's population. Topics covered by speakers and sessions include:聽health of Sebago Lake fisheries, Sebago Lake water quality, climate change impacts, the Sebago Lake monitoring buoy, algae and invasive plants, citizen science opportunities,聽beach closures, and policies for聽lake聽protection. Free, but registration required.
As the four students step up to their larger-than-life works of art, the terms that come to mind are poise, bravery, talent. Drawing deep breaths and digging for patience, the student artists pick up their brushes, pastels, or cutting tools for the final touches before exhibition.
Supportive environments create lifelong connection bonded by common experiences. Through creating these cohorts we are empowering students by challenging them and supporting them, giving them a place to 鈥渟tart from鈥 as they graduate and become members of the larger human community.
The Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society held their 31st Annual Induction Ceremony in October on the University of Southern Maine (USM) campus and inducted 22 nurses from 色虎视频 of Maine, as well as from Maine Medical Center, University of New England, and USM.聽
